Note: The legally binding version of these terms is the German version. This English translation is provided for convenience only.

§ 1 Scope

(1) These Terms of Service govern the use of the PlanesForge platform (hereinafter "Platform"), accessible at https://planesforge.de, operated by Steffen Jahr, Im Brumättle 23, 77656 Offenburg (hereinafter "Operator").

(2) The Platform serves as a tournament management system for Magic: The Gathering tournaments across all formats (including Pauper, Standard, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Vintage, Sealed, Draft), including player registration, pairing management, result recording, and tournament statistics.

(3) By registering for or using the Platform, the user accepts these Terms.

§ 2 User Account

(1) Certain features require a user account. Players authenticate via a magic link sent by email. Organizers and administrators use password-based login.

(2) Users must provide truthful information and must not share their access credentials with third parties.

(3) Only one account per person is permitted.

§ 3 Tournament Registration

(1) Tournament registration is handled through the Platform. By registering, the player accepts the respective tournament conditions set by the organizer.

(2) Tournament participation may require an entry fee. The amount and payment terms are determined by the organizer and displayed in the tournament listing.

(3) The organizer reserves the right to decline registrations or exclude participants, particularly in cases of violations of these Terms or tournament rules.

(4) Providing a postal code (PLZ) is mandatory during tournament registration and is used for statistical analysis of regional participant distribution.

§ 4 Tournament Operations

(1) Player pairings follow the Swiss system. The Platform calculates pairings automatically.

(2) Tournament results (standings, pairings, match results) are published on the Platform and are publicly visible.

(3) Submitted decklists may be publicly visible after tournament completion, if configured by the organizer.

(4) Meta analyses and tournament statistics are made publicly available after the tournament ends.

§ 5 User Obligations

(1) Users agree not to misuse the Platform, in particular:

  • not to provide false identities or data,
  • not to use automated access (bots, scrapers) on the Platform,
  • not to interfere with the technical infrastructure of the Platform.

(2) Players must conduct themselves fairly and sportsmanlike during tournaments. The organizer may exclude players who violate tournament rules or fair play standards.

§ 6 Liability

(1) The Operator is fully liable for damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health, as well as for damages caused intentionally or through gross negligence.

(2) For slight negligence, the Operator is only liable for breaches of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations). In such cases, liability is limited to foreseeable, typically occurring damages.

(3) The Operator assumes no liability for the correctness of automatically calculated pairings or standings, provided the underlying algorithms function properly.

(4) The Operator is not liable for the execution of tournaments by third-party organizers.

§ 7 Availability

(1) The Operator strives for high platform availability but cannot guarantee it.

(2) Maintenance or technical disruptions may lead to temporary restrictions. There is no entitlement to uninterrupted availability.

§ 8 Termination and Deletion

(1) Users may delete their account at any time by contacting the Operator or using the deletion function in profile settings.

(2) The Operator may suspend or delete user accounts in case of violations of these Terms.

(3) Tournament results and statistical data may be retained in anonymized form after account deletion.

§ 9 Changes to Terms

(1) The Operator reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Users will be informed of changes.

(2) Continued use of the Platform after amended Terms take effect constitutes acceptance.

§ 10 Final Provisions

(1) The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany apply.

(2) Should individual provisions of these Terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected (severability clause).

(3) The place of jurisdiction, insofar as legally permissible, is Offenburg.
